Meet the Pro – Reuben Rosas

Question: Can you tell me a little about yourself?

Hello my name is Reuben Rosas. I’ve been in the custom apparel industry since 2005. Working in both screen printing and Embroidery in Phoenix for 4 1/2 years and working for Arizona Cottons for 15 years now. 

Throughout the years I’ve played a role in many aspects of the custom apparel industry, from production in screen printing, embroidery, to sales, shipping and receiving. Nowadays I spend most of my time running the embroidery department and occasionally helping out with printing and DTF heat pressing. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my Family, watching sports, comedy movies and listening to music.

Question:  What are some of your personal strengths that you bring to this role?

I believe that some strengths I have that help me in my role here at Arizona Cottons are a willingness to learn new things, being a team player, having patience, wanting to finish what I start and being able to stay focused on each task.

Question: How do you handle tight deadlines and pressure at work?

I handle tight deadlines and pressure at work by first understanding the work order for the job. Making sure that if I have any questions or concerns about the job at hand, get answered before I even start. Making sure all colors, locations and sizing, spelling, etc. are correct to ensure less mistakes. Then I stay focused and organized until the job is complete.

Question:  What specific skills do you think are most important for this role? 

Skills needed for this position are communication, focus and having an eye for flaws in the production process. I believe that these three skills are crucial to this role in ensuring that each job gets done correctly, in a timely manner or by its due date and that the quality of the production is there.

Question: How do you approach teamwork and collaboration with your colleagues?

I approach teamwork with communication, always being willing to work with anyone and willing to do any task to complete all team goals. 

Question: What type of work environment do you thrive in?

I thrive in a work environment that is fast paced where I believe I can give the most and stay consistent in completing tasks.  

Question: How do you prioritize your tasks and manage your time effectively? 

I prioritize tasks by due dates, estimating the time a task will take and by multitasking when possible.
